ROCK OF AGES
by Chris D'Arienzo, Music Arrangements by Ethan Popp
Directed by Adam Estes
Musical Direction by Cameron Kinnear
Lake Dillon Theatre Company, CO, June 2018

It’s the tail end of the big, bad 1980s in Hollywood, and the party has been raging hard. Aqua Net, Lycra, lace, and liquor flow freely at one of the Sunset Strip's last legendary venues. Amidst the madness, aspiring rock star (and resident toilet cleaner) Drew longs to take the stage as the next big thing (and longs for small-town girl Sherri, fresh off the bus from Kansas with stars in her eyes). But the rock and roll fairy-tale is about to end when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another capitalist strip mall.

Bringing this louder than life show to Lake Dillon Theatre was no easy task! A live band onstage and the intimate 3/4 audience seating arrangement required precise and finely-tuned sound system design. Strategic microphone placement on the actors, and diligent level mixing with the instruments ensured that everyone in the house got a "totally kick-ass" sounding show.
